Jewish Tour of Israel 10 Days / 9 Nights
Day 1 – Monday
Arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. One of the representatives of Levona Travel will escort the group and introduce our driver. We head to the hotel to enjoy refreshments (depending on the arrival time) and rest.
Day 2 – Tuesday
We have breakfast at the hotel. We will begin the day by visiting the White City of Tel Aviv, including Old Jaffa, Neve Tzedek, Nachalat Binyamin, and more. In the afternoon we will visit Independence Hall including an audio presentation of Prime Minister Ben Gurion, giving the Declaration of Independence and establishing the State of Israel. Then we will go to Rothschild Boulevard to view the Bauhaus architectural style of the 1930s. We return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 3 – Wednesday
We have breakfast at the hotel and we start our way along the Mediterranean coast. We arrive in Caesarea, a port city built by Herod in honor of Caesar Augustus and ancient capital for the Roman Empire in the region We visit the aqueduct, the Roman amphitheater and hippodrome. We proceed to Haifa and view the Baha’i Gardens; we continue towards Mount Carmel and visit Muhraka, where Elijah slaughtered the false prophets. We head to Akko and visit the Crusaders’ underground city and the Knights’ Halls. From there we head to the Galilee. We arrive to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 4 – Thursday
We have breakfast at the hotel and drive north to the Golan Heights, and view the magical mountains. We continue to Safed, the birthplace of Kabbalah, we will visit beautiful synagogues and artist workshops. In the afternoon we head southbound to Jerusalem. Upon our arrival to the city we go to a point overlooking the Old City, where we will have a special Shehecheyanu ceremony. We continue to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 5 – Friday
We have breakfast at the hotel. We head to the Dead Sea and reach the fortress of Masada. We climb the mountain by cable car and walk the fortress of Herod. In the afternoon we go to the tourist area of the Dead Sea and float in its mineral-rich waters to take full advantage of its therapeutic benefits. We return to the hotel for Shabbat dinner and rest.
Day 6 – Saturday
We have breakfast at the hotel. We have a leisure day. We can either participate in services at one of the synagogues, or relax at the hotel. Live the special atmosphere of Jerusalem on Shabbat. Return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 7 – Sunday
We have breakfast at the hotel. We head to the Israel Museum and in its grounds, to the Shrine of the Book – place where the “Dead Sea Scrolls” are displayed. We can also see a giant scale model of the Temple of Jerusalem. We go to the Menorah and view the Knesset. We continue to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum and the National Cemetery on Mount Herzl. We return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 8 – Monday
We have breakfast at the hotel. We head towards the old city of Jerusalem and visit the Holy Western Wall – the Kotel. We proceed to the Tunnels and the passages and view the different layers of Jerusalem and stand where is believed to be the closest place to the “Holy of Holies”. We go then to Davidson center and the Jewish Quarter. We return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 9 – Tuesday
We have breakfast at the hotel. We head to the Ben Shemen forest to a tree planting ceremony. We continue to Beit Govrin for a dig and tour in the Archeological site. We return to the hotel have the rest of the day to visit Ben-Yehuda Street and experience the life of the modern city or to rest. We return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 10 – Wednesday
We have breakfast in the hotel and go to Ben Gurion International Airport for our return flight.
