Day 1
Arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. One of the representatives of Levona Travel escorts us and introduces our driver. We head to the hotel to enjoy refreshments (depending on arrival time) and rest.
Day 2
We have breakfast at the hotel and we make a short visit to the city of Jaffa. We follow the Mediterranean coast to the ancient city of Caesarea, which was the capital of Judea and under Roman domination. Herod the Great ordered its construction in honor of Emperor Augustus Caesar. We visit Herod’s Palace and the Hippodrome. We also pass by the Crusader fortress and see the ancient aqueduct. We continue our way to Haifa and view the beautiful Ba’hai gardens. Then we continue to Acre (Akko) and visit the Hall of Knights, the Turkish Bath Al Basha, the Galleries of the Templars and the port of Acre. We proceed to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 3
We have breakfast at the hotel, then we take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and we disembark in Capernaum. We continue our way to the Mount of Beatitudes and get a glimpse of the Golan Heights. We pass through Qazrin, the capital of the Golan Heights, and from there we will see the process of pressing of olive oil; if time allows, we will visit one of the renowned vineyards of Yarden. We proceed to Beit Mitzpe and Gadot Bad then go back to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 4
We have breakfast at the hotel. We begin in Magdala, where we visit an original 1st century synagogue. We continue to Beit Shean, archaeological site of great importance and size in Israel and see the excavations of the Roman-Byzantine city. We continue along the Jordan Valley and stop in the Judean Desert to view Wadi Qelt and the Monastery of St. George, located on the brink of the river Qelt. We continue our tour on Mount Scopus where we will have the opportunity to see a panoramic view of the city of Jerusalem. We arrive at the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 5
We have breakfast at the hotel. We head to the Mount of Olives and then to the Garden of Gethsemane. We visit Mount Zion and continue to the room of the Last Supper or Cenacle and the tomb of King David. We follow to the Zion Gate and enter the Old City. We pass the Cardo, and in view the Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock. We arrive at the Western Wall, we then walk along the bazaar of the Arab Quarter, to arrive in the Christian Quarter to the Via Dolorosa and follow some of the stations to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We leave the Old City and go to the Time Elevator in Jerusalem, an amazing multimedia adventure that travels through the 3,000 years of the city. We conclude the tour at the Sherover Haas Passage with a spectacular view of Jerusalem from the south. Optional in the afternoon is a visit to Bethlehem, where the Church and the Grotto of the Nativity are located. We return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 6
We have breakfast at the hotel. We begin the day at the Israel Museum and the Shrine of the Book – where the parchments found at Qumran known as the “Dead Sea Scrolls” are displayed. We see a giant scale model of the Second Temple of Jerusalem. We continue to the Menorah and view the Knesset. We visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum. We drive to Ein Karem, where we will see art galleries and the Church of the Visitation. We return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 7
We have breakfast at the hotel. We have a free day for shopping or visiting again any of the known landmarks. We return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Optional visit to Masada and the Dead Sea: We have breakfast at the hotel. We head to the Dead Sea and reach the fortress of Masada. We climb the mountain by cable car and walk the fortress of Herod. In the afternoon we go to the tourist area of the Dead Sea and float in its mineral-rich waters to take full advantage of its therapeutic benefits. We return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 8
Transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport for our return flight.
